Certificate of Good Standing
A Certificate of Good Standing attests to an attorney's admission to practice and current status of good standing before the bar of this Court. The fee for each certificate is $21.00.
Note: Certificates of Good Standing are available to attorneys who are admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and have been admitted to practice (taken the admission oath) in the Southern District of West Virginia. LR Civ P 83.1 and LR Cr P 44.1.
Request a Certificate of Good Standing electronically via CM/ECF or written request.
Electronic request via CM/ECF:
- Log into the court's CM/ECF website and click on 'Civil', and then click on 'Certificate of Good Standing.'
- When prompted enter your name, bar number, and credit card information for payment of the $21.00 processing fee.
After verifying attorney status, the Clerk's Office will mail the completed certificate to the attorney's mailing address registered in CM/ECF. Contact the Court at 304-347-3000 or wvsdml_attorneyadmissions@wvsd.uscourts.gov if you have questions.
