Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF)
The CM/ECF system is the federal judiciary's comprehensive case management system for all appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts. CM/ECF allows courts to accept filing s and provide access to filed documents over the internet.
Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER)
PACER is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information from federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts via the internet. PACER is provided by the federal judiciary in keeping with its commitment to providing public access to court information via a centralized service. Docket information cannot be obtained over the phone from the clerk's office. PACER provides access to dockets (case information) via the internet for a fee of $0.10 per page.

Becoming an E-Filer in the Southern District of West Virginia
E-Filing privileges are only issued to members of the bar of this court.
To be issued a login and password, you must request e-filing privileges through the PACER Service Center at www.pacer.uscourts.gov.
Once e-filing privileges have been granted the attorney is permitted to participate in the electronic retrieval and filing of pleadings and other papers. Users are subject to applicable PACER service fees.
